We were lucky to find this old mas, it was everything we wanted, an old house in a quiet situation, with a large garden, in a truly beautiful village.

We have just had the interior sympathetically renovated and refurbished to a high standard. The house is painted in muted colours in Farrow & Ball paints, and the downstairs floors are lime stone.  The furnishings are elegant, but relaxed.  The showers are large walk in ones.  For winter breaks, it has open log fireplaces, & central heating, making it idea for off season holidays, when the days are sunny, but the nights are cold and crisp. We are happy to discuss discounts for long winter lets.

St.Didier is a very beautiful, unspoilt village, with a small supermarket, butchers, cave, bakers, newsagents, bars and restaurants etc. It also has a post office, small hotel, and tennis courts. The main street is shaded, in summer, by an avenue of plane trees. The house is wonderfully situated for the village, and is very special, in that it is a large village house with a beautiful garden and pool, in a quiet situation.

The pool is alarmed to help protect young children.

It is a wonderful area to explore , with its many beautiful villages, each with their own market days. The papal city of Avignon , and Carpentras, famous for its truffle market , are both near by. They both have excellent shops, and long summer festivals with music, dance, & theatre. Avignon 's cultural activities continue throughout the winter. All the local villages have fetes during the long hot summer months. For antique lovers, the world famous market at L'lisle- sur -la -Sorgue is a short drive away. The unique Vaison La Romaine, medieval on one side of its river, and with Roman remains the other side, is just the to the North of the Mount Ventoux .

The Roman cities of Orange , Arles , and Aix en Provence are about an hour's drive away. The Camargue, with its wonderful wild life, with flamingo's, bulls, and wild horses, about 90 mins away. Also about 90 mins away is the pretty coastal resort of Cassis.  A twenty minute drive takes you to the Luberon.

For good food lovers there are many exceptional restaurants very close by. Amongst our favourites are The Mas la Bonoty, the Auberge du Beaucett, and the famous Hostellerie-de-Crillon-le Brave with its wonderful main restaurant, and its innovative bistro, where you can go down to the cellar to choose your own bottle of wine to accompany your meal. The beautiful hill top village of Venasque , five kilometres away, has the very good Auberge-la-Fontaine, and also Les Remparts.

The wines we have mentioned briefly before, but as well as the favourites, Gigondas, Chateauneuf-du-Pape and the wonderful pudding wine of Beaumes-de-Vanise, you may also like to try the wines at the cave St. Marc in the village of Caromb, and the wines of the village of Vacqueyras, as well as, of course, St.Didier's.

For those who get bored sitting in the afternoon shade, reading a book, with a glass of wine, it is a wonderful area for walking and cycling. You may like to try the Tour de France route to the top of Mt.Ventoux! There are rivers to fish, or canoe, horse riding, and the village has tennis courts.
