The Lemon Tree

This lovely house, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms, is very similar to the Mas de Maitre and is situated next door. Approached from a separate road, it has a pretty garden and swimming pool.

It has recently been renovated and furnished to a high standard and sleeps 8 - 10 people.

The house comprises:

Downstairs:
A very large open plan sitting room with limestone floors and a large natural stone fireplace, with satellite TV, DVD & CD player and large doors opening onto the garden. The kitchen area also has limestone floors, and granite work tops. There is an American style fridge freezer, which dispenses ice, a range style gas and electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave etc, and dining area.
A double or twin bedroom with ensuite is also situated on the ground floor. There is a washing machine in the ensuite.

Upstairs:
Large bedroom with king size bed and ensuite, double bedroom with bathroom and a very large bedroom with queen size bed plus two single beds.
Outside there is a dining area with table and chairs, a pool house with wc and shower, barbecue, and sun loungers.

The Village:
.St.Didier is a very beautiful, unspoilt village, with a small supermarket, butchers, cave, bakers, newsagents, bars and restaurants etc. It also has a post office, small hotel, and tennis courts. The main street is shaded, in summer, by an avenue of plane trees. The house is wonderfully situated for the village, and is very special, in that it is a village house with garden and pool, in a quiet situation. It offers a very French experience.
The pool is fenced to help protect young children.

It is a wonderful area to explore, with its many beautiful villages, each with their own market days. The papal city of Avignon, and Carpentras, famous for its truffle market, are both near by. They both have excellent shops, and long summer festivals with music, dance, & theatre. Avignon's cultural activities continue throughout the winter. All the local villages have fetes during the long hot summer months. For antique lovers, the world famous market at L'lisle-sur-la-Sorgue is a short drive away. The unique Vaison La Romaine, medieval on one side of its river, and with Roman remains the other side, is just the to the North of the Mount Ventoux.

The Roman cities of Orange, Arles, and Aix en Provence are about an hour's drive away.
The Camargue, with its wonderful wild life, with flamingos, bulls, and wild horses, about 90mins away. Also about 90 mins away is the pretty coastal resort of Cassis. A twenty-minute drive takes you to the Luberon.

For good food lovers there are many exceptional restaurants very close by. Amongst our favorites are L’autre cote du Lavoir, The Chateau du Mazan, The Mas la Bonoty, the Auberge du Beaucett, and the famous Hostellerie-de-Crillon-le Brave with its wonderful main restaurant. The beautiful hill top village of Venasque, five kilometers away, has the very good Auberge-la-Fontaine, and also Les Ramparts.

The wines we have mentioned briefly before, but as well as the favorites, Gigondas, Chateauneuf-du-Pape and the wonderful pudding wine of Beaumes-de-Vanise, you may also like to try the wines at the cave St. Marc in the village of Caromb, and the wines of the village of Vacqueyras, as well as, of course, St.Didier's.

For those who get bored sitting in the afternoon shade, reading a book, with a glass of wine, it is
a wonderful area for walking and cycling. You may like to try the Tour de France route to the top
of Mt.Ventoux! There are rivers to fish, or canoe, horse riding, and the village has tennis courts.
